STRAYS

A check list of things to do if you find a stray in your midst!

  • Call us — 01285 641289 — to report that you may have a stray and we will cross check our Lost and Found lists.

  • Check with neighbours to see if they know who the cat belongs to.

  • Telephone or visit veterinary surgeries with details of the cat and put a notice up.

  • Put posters up — on lamp posts, local shops/post office/pub/garage/chip shop!

  • Flyers on car windscreens.

  • A notice in the local paper.

If after a reasonable time there is no response then please call us again and we will try to bring the cat in if we have a fosterer available. It may be that you will have to be put on a waiting list for a space to become available and unfortunately the waiting time is very unpredictable depending on how quickly the cats we have in are homed and the length of the waiting list.

Help us to help you……..if we are able to bring the cat in, we will probably have to trap it and it would be very helpful if you are able to do this yourself and then telephone us to let us know when it is caught. We are all volunteers and many of us work full time and have families so time is limited which is why we ask for as much help from you as possible to solve the problem.
